WINDSHIELD REPAIR RESIN

The windshield repair resin is the most important part of the entire windshield repair system. The resin is the only product you leave the customer with. If the resin deteriorates it can destroy your reputation and you will be giving refunds.

Nothing on a vehicle is more exposed to the environment than a windshield. You should use the best resins on the market. The difference in price is only a few cents per repair.

How do you find the best resin on the market?  Ask for three details: (1) Viscosity, (2) Lab Tests AFTER EXPOSURE and (3) Field Test Photographs.

If the seller does not provide this then do not buy the resin. You should also know the Fundamentals of Adhesives.

Viscosity is the thickness of the resin. You must use the proper thickness to completely fill the break in a stone break and not cause flowering (pushing the laminate). The ingredients that determine strength and durability increase the thickness of the resin. Long Cracks require thicker resins called structural adhesives and all of these resins are patented (150 cps - 4000 cps +) and owned by Ultra Bond and Richard Campfield.

If a company is hiding the viscosity of a long crack resin it is because they do not want you to know it is too low to hold a crack for an extended length of time or the resin infringes Campfield's patents. If you use this resin you become a patent infringer and this company has put you in a position to be sued. Patent infringement litigation can cost you $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 per month.

Do not take this risk, it is not worth the few cents more it costs per repair to do it right.
